SPIRIT OF VOLUNTEERISM
If found myself like into volunteering in United African Alliance Community Center as my second time been a volunteer in a non government organization,I volunteered as my first time when i was 21-22 years old in Dar es salaam in one of the N.G.O which was under a family friend sister Beatrice Kazinja from Kigila gila -Dar es salaam after been tried so hard to find a job for so long after I graduated from school [secondary school]
I volunteer in that N.G.O which it was just a day care center for the children [Orphans],hard knock life and HIV carriers..I use to volunteer as a teacher,whom used to teach them how to read and write and English language same as Swahili language [reading and writing]
that was earlier 2007 after volunteering for 2 months ,me and sister Beatrice,brother John and another sister Manka together we decided to work on make that day care become a non government organization ,due to the reason of looking for funds cause for more than 5years sister Beatrice used to spend her own money she earns from her personal business activities to help those children as a promise she kept within her self cause SHE LIVED AS A STREET CHILD...tho she wasnt exactly an Orphan...
2007 November our NGO earned 5millions as a fund from PASADA ''Organisation under Roman Catholic church which funds NGO's which struggling to fight HIV AIDS and struggling to help ones who have HIV AIDS. Early 2008 things went wrong within us cause some of us in our NGO ''Prince Home of The Needy'' demands C.E.O sister Beatrice Kazinja to pay us some allowance so we can afford to come up and work with the NGO after spent alot of our money for transport and accomodation...I was living nearby sister Beatrice homeplace so I had no problem on that,but i were supporting the brothers and sisters whom asked for allowance once after realized that fund which we received from PASADA also it has a favor of allowances to the volunteers including me as a volunteer and coordinator of that N.G.O and I was in my earlier 20's
that kind of misunderstanding between us led by the money[fund] we received as Non Government Organisation- Prince Home of the Needy..some of us we broke up cause sister Beatrice refused to refund the volunteers some money as allowance..tho she paid some money which I still remember i used it to buy one of my expensive smartphone Black berry 8700 from a brother wo came from a trip in United Kingdom. Unity broken down and i was with sister Beatrice as her coordinator whom we used to work hand by hand..and we achieved a goal of sent more than 150 children whom wanted to go to secondary schools under Government sponsorship and PASADA paid for their school fees which was costing 100 dollars per year.
FALLEN DOWN.
I was working with sister Beatrice Kazinja for more 7months and we got another fund from organisation which used to fund women empowerment..and our NGO received like 7millions Tanzania shillings and cracked happened between us after sister Beatrice Kazinja and the group of women whom she used to fund and support them,group of widows and affected women from HIV AIDS under Prince Home of the Needy protested that the fund from that organisation ''i dont remember the name of that org''they were protested and claimed that we were using them for our own benefits and I realized they were right cause this fund i didnt get no single cent as an allowance or whatever for myself to keep the spirit of volunteerism alive,and sister Beatrice Kazinja bought her own car..so i decided to back off and let it go..
TRIAL OF ESTABLISH OUR OWN ORGANISATION.
so I quieted to volunteer into her NGO and I joined brother John and sister Manka and another sister whom she used to be a journalist sister Mossy Magere,she was a main structure of forming our own NGO which will keep us to continue work as social workers and she was paying everythings needed ..and I was selected as General secretary of that organisation which we named UTU NI HAKI FOUNDATION 29th July 2009 at Lumo Dar es salaam meeting in her shop.
our objectives were
maintaining free education to the children whom living underdifferent circumstances especial HIV carriers,mental disables,unfits,children under sexism.
-supporting widows through interpreneurship to be able employee themselves.
-provide basic needs to widows and street children living in our community .[humanitarian]
-healthy education through seminars
-establish youths organisations which can engage into sports,entertainment within a society,
our foundation didnt work out cause when I went to the Ministry which deals with registering NGO.s to meet a lawyer and take the documents which will be initializing on how to register a Non Government Organisation unfortunately I met sister Beatrice Kazinja with a Lawyer whom supposed to work with us to make it happen..since then it didnt materialized and we never registered it and we were done.
VOLUNTEERING AT UNITED AFRICAN ALLIANCE COMMUNITY CENTER- UAACC.
I first heard about UAACC from a social network a facebook friend EDMOND AZAZA and one of the most well known Tanzanian Hip Hop MC Fareed Kubanda a.k.a Fid Q they were posting each others the news regards Panther In Africa which made me ask them about A panther in Africa cause I had an aware of Black Panther Party before and I never thought there is a A panther in Africa and I thought the same thing if in Africa there is a Panther no doubt in exile..so I asked a brother to take me to where the Panther is at even thought we couldn’t make it together but I decided to contact myself brother Pete and he welcome me to United African Alliance Community Center and then it was my beginning to stay and volunteering at United African Alliance Community Center..one strong reason is to work and hang around with former Black Panthers that was the main reason at the first place.
I also volunteering as I use to do..i mean teaching though this time not kindergarten but I do teaching youths some English classes and also I volunteer as Coordinator of United African Alliance Community Center which I believe im doing so far so good especially coordinating free education program which UAACC offerimg to Imbaseni community and its neighbourhood,classes we offers are like English,Computer,Music,Arts as main subjects.
WHY DO I VOLUNTEER??
I decided to do volunteering after hustled a lot to look for a job,I mean a good job though Im not a professional on anything but I refused and hated the way I worked into different exploiters companies after I graduated and I seen myself into slave owner plantation and I hated it and promised myself better volunteering than working into slave masters plantations,which role of their game is exploitation.
I also volunteer cause I need to find myself ,what do I want to be,and what I should have to be what I want to be,likewise I already know how to master my time and plans and make things going in a particular time,I found myself I need to be hardworking to accomplish my goals,also be the main boss of my plans and depend on myself not to someone else,and volunteering taught me that money didn’t make me and money wont break me…I learn a lesson in life should depend on myself and that taught me that even cents have it worth so whenever I get the money I use it careful so to save some which can help me out when I need it ,you can imagine far from home far away from you’re parents no easy means of making money but it is what it is,it is like im in school studying myself..and I found myself in music cause I play some different instruments like harmonica,didgeridoo, im also a poet and writer so volunteering taught so many things especially here I am right now UAACC.
MY GOALS
I have bunch of goals to make,but one main one is to keep help others who needs a help,and especially a help of educating someone,so one of my goals is to help my community to help my people to help my fellow human beings and make this world a better place.
